It’s ECAD week at St. Mark’s Cathedral! This is the fourth year of this exciting camp. ECAD stands for Episcopal Creative Arts Day Camp and also describes the four focuses of the camp – explore, create, adventure, and discover. The theme this year is, “Enter the mystery; explore the parables.” Each day over 80 campers (grades Pre-K through rising sixth), 30 youth leaders and 32 adult leaders take part in drama, art, music, dance, outdoor games, yoga, and storytelling. A specialty of the camp is tinkering, when campers have independent art time to respond to Bible stories. Here’s what some of the campers and youth have to say about ECAD!
“I like how my friends and I get to boost our creativity during tinkering time.” –Charlie, 4th grade
“I like doing art, having snacks because I’m hungry, and making friends.” –Claire, 1st grade
“We like the sound and beat of the music we make.” –Charlotte and Margaret, 3rd grade
“ECAD is rad!” –Paul, youth leader
