The nursery is one of the places where you can really feel the growth and community-building going on at Saint Mark’s.

This year, Saint Mark's nursery had a beautiful makeover, thanks in part to generous donations from the congregation. Building on the theme of the adorable Noah’s Ark mural we already had, the nursery was carpeted in a dark ocean blue and redesigned to be soft, safe and colorful. We are now ideally suited to care for Saint Mark's very youngest members, with cuddly animal bean bags, blankets and floor pillows, custom climbing furniture, excersaucers and bouncy chairs, with no hard corners anywhere!

Toddlers & preschoolers love our playhouse and basketball net, our collection of cars with a ramp and play rug to zoom them around on, and cabinets full of legos, puzzles, crayons, and other games. Everyone enjoys looking out the windows overlooking the woodsy space behind Saint Mark’s. The nursery now spreads over two full connected rooms, with lots of open space to run or to have some personal space. During nice weather, the older children enjoy going just a few steps down the hall to our enclosed playground for some fresh air and fun.

I have been the head nursery attendant for Saint Mark’s for two years now. I am so grateful and fortunate to have had the leadership of Mary Lusk and the partnership of the other caregivers in the nursery with me: Maddie Brown and Megan Turner, as well as our wonderful volunteer, Tom Brandt. Saint Mark’s has a dedicated and consistent team in the nursery. We all share the goal of providing an inviting, playful space for all the families at Saint Mark’s to use for any part of Sunday morning worship, from from 7:45 am - noon. We would love to see nursery attendance continue to grow by increasing awareness of the nursery's excellent layout and attentive caregivers. We come to work each Sunday hoping that our nursery’s reputation helps to attract new members to the church.
