Children & Youth

Children and youth are not the future of the church they are a lively and active part of the church today. We value our children and want them to experience our faith in a way that meets their needs. We want our children to be safe. We want our children to build healthy relationships that will grow into lifelong friendships. You will find many opportunities for young people to experience the joy and wonder of their life in Christ at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral.

Youth Serving Opportunities

Ushers greet people as they arrive for a service, provide service sheets, answer questions, and give directions to newcomers and visitors.

Sunday Night Supper is a long-standing tradition at Saint Mark’s, one in which we join three other large downtown churches to provide a Sunday evening meal to the needy in the neighborhood.

Lectors read passages from Scripture during the service. Lectors serve on monthly teams twice a year.

Acolyting is a ministry of service. Acolytes help the clergy and the congregation alike in their experience with liturgy. Adults and youth second grade and up are welcome to participate.

Greeters welcome worshippers into the Cathedral and provide the gift of hospitality to those who come to our doors.
