Sunday Mornings
Children’s Worship, 10:40 am
This worship service is created specially for children ages 4 – 8 years, and is located in Whipple Chapel. Included in this time will be children’s music, along with the gospel story of the day, prayers, and opportunity for discussion. This is when the children share their thoughts and dreams, and is inspiring for all. With several regular adults in attendance, clergy and shared ministry team members will join this time as special guests.
Children will be invited to join a procession after the collect of the day, leaving the 10:30 service, going into Whipple Chapel, and re-joining their families at the time of the peace.
Children in Worship
Children are always welcome in worship. We welcome their sounds and their movements, and the energy they bring! With the light flowing through the stained glass windows, the sounds of the choirs and organ, the touch of a neighbor during the Peace, the taste of the bread and the wine, the worship experience will entice and engage their senses! There are worship bulletins available at each entrance of the nave with activities connected to the Sunday’s readings. With opportunities that include acolytes, choirs, readers and greeters, children are encouraged to be involved in any aspect of the service.
Nursery
For those youngest among us, we offer a bright and engaging nursery throughout Sunday mornings, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Our nursery team are trained to offer a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children 3 years and younger. This nursery room is located on the second floor of the education wing.
Sunday School Program
Sunday School Focus, K – 5th grade
We offer a workshop rotation model of learning to experience Bible stories and key concepts using all five senses in interesting and engaging surroundings, while meeting a wide variety of the members of Saint Mark’s community.
Children’s Choirs
Music is an integral part of our worship, and a desire to provide an experience of our rich musical tradition to our youth is central to our music ministry program.
Small Singers will rehearse weekly, as part of the Children’s Worship on Sunday mornings. All children ages 4-8 years are encouraged to participate in the weekly singing, and in the periodic performances. Led by Rebecca Poppke.
Cathedral Choristers provide an opportunity for children and teenagers who enjoy music and singing to use this passion to worship God. Directed by Harriet McCleary.
St. Mark’s Acolytes
Acolyting is open to all youth from 4th grade on up. Acolytes assist in the rituals and processions of the worship service, and are invited to “robe-up” any and every week. Contact Siri Hustad.

ECAD Returns!
July 29th-August 2nd – Episcopal Creative Arts Day camp returns for a third season, with a focus on the story of creation. Even though there are seven days of creation, we’ll get it done in five, including time for rest and relaxation. This year, eight Episcopal churches are involved in the planning, so expect to meet children from all around the metro! Learn More/Register
Children’s Worship, every Sunday, 10:30 am.
Children’s worship continues in the summer, though in a more relaxed fashion. (We’ll begin by taking our shoes off!) Come and join us for a Gospel story which might be a storybook, or a bible reading, or a let’s-pretend drama! We’ll have play dough and crayons, plus an inexhaustible supply of stuff that will put our imaginations to the test. Adults are welcome to join the worship fun any Sunday.
