DESCRIPTION:This is a small group opportunity that combines study of Scripture with reflection on our spiritual lives.  Focusing on the Gospel selection prescribed for the upcoming Sunday\, we ask three questions\, reading the passage each time. \n\nRead the Gospel – What word(s)\, idea(s)\, or phrase(s) stand out for you?\nRead the Gospel – What is Jesus (the Gospel) saying to you?\nRead the Gospel – What is Jesus (the Gospel) calling you to do?\n\nSharing our responses\, we listen and learn. \nGospel Based Discipleship is not a formal Bible study.  There is a convener but no authoritative interpreter.  Members take away their own inspiration from an encounter with Jesus in the company of others who are seeking deeper discipleship. \nWe meet every Friday at 12:15 pm via Zoom and aim to keep the meeting to 30-35 minutes. DESCRIPTION:Caregiving can be a very lonely journey. St. Mark’s has a support group for persons who are involved in caregiving for a loved one. Persons in the group are extending care to parents\, spouses\, siblings\, and members of younger generations in their families who need varying levels and types of assistance. They come together to express their concerns\, offer encouragement\, and share helpful resources with one another. Together we tap the gifts of our faith – prayer\, Scripture\, and Christian community – to find strength\, hope\, and peace. \nThe Group meets via Zoom from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on two (sometimes three) Mondays a month. Whether you are new to being a caregiver or have found yourself in that role for a period of time\, we welcome you to join us. DESCRIPTION:This is a small group opportunity that combines study of Scripture with reflection on our spiritual lives.  Focusing on the Gospel selection prescribed for the upcoming Sunday\, we ask three questions\, reading the passage each time. \n\nRead the Gospel – What word(s)\, idea(s)\, or phrase(s) stand out for you?\nRead the Gospel – What is Jesus (the Gospel) saying to you?\nRead the Gospel – What is Jesus (the Gospel) calling you to do?\n\nSharing our responses\, we listen and learn. \nGospel Based Discipleship is not a formal Bible study.  There is a convener but no authoritative interpreter.  Members take away their own inspiration from an encounter with Jesus in the company of others who are seeking deeper discipleship. \nWe meet every Friday at 12:15 pm via Zoom and aim to keep the meeting to 30-35 minutes. DESCRIPTION:The next St. Mark’s Newcomers’ Connection gathering is held at the Cathedral following the 10:30 service on the 2nd Sunday of most months from September through June. This 45-minute gathering is an opportunity to become better acquainted with the life of the Cathedral and meet some of the leaders as well as other newcomers. It’s a chance to ask questions about the life of the Cathedral and to learn of opportunities for prayer\, study\, and service to encourage you on your journey of faith. The gathering will be held in the Heritage Room which is on the Nave level. A brief tour of the building will be provided for those who are interested.
