Saint Mark’s Youth Need Your Support to Raise Funds and
Collect Gardening Gloves!
Cathedral youth are fundraising for much needed items for their White Earth chore list AND collecting 40 pair of gardening gloves by July 21.Every summer since 2012, youth from several congregations, including Saint Mark’s, visit the White Earth Nation in northern Minnesota and stay in Naytahwaush at Samuel Memorial Episcopal Church. The trip is called ‘mawadisidiwag’, which means ‘they visit each other’ in Ojibwe and a special relationship with the parish and elders has developed over the years. Days will be filled with chores and projects and evenings with fireside storytelling about the Ojibwa tribe, as told by local long-time friends. This year’s trip will feature a Pow Wow in Onigum. Funds are needed to buy a new vacuum, furnace filters, LED light bulbs, and a small freezer for the host congregation, totaling $850. Wherever possible, purchases are made locally to benefit the community. To contribute, please send checks to Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, Attn: Stacey Olson – White Earth and please drop donated medium sized gardening gloves outside the youth office for Summer in the City and the White Earth trip. Miigwech (thank you)!
