Paul Found in His Letters

Facilitated by The Rev. Dr. George Martin

Mondays April 17, 24, May 1 and 8 at 7 p.m. | Zoom

George Martin, a retired Episcopal priest, has written a book with the exact title of this Zoom series. He always found things that Paul said he thought were wrong, and other parts of his letters hard to understand. His research based on the seven letters Paul actually wrote reveals some amazing things about Paul in the history of the first century. There will be lively discussions of Martin’s book, and access for all participants to various chapters of the book that will be posted online. The book will also be available at the St. Mark’s bookstore. Also look at www.paulfound.org for more information about this important new book.

Preparing for End of Life

Facilitated by Helen Hanson and Joan Olson

Wednesdays April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10 at 1 p.m. | Zoom

How can we talk about what is most important to us as we age? How do we talk about our health and the care we want with those who matter most? We are offering 4 sessions based on the Conversation Starter Kit from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Included in our discussion we will be thinking about what matters to you, planning your conversation, starting that conversation and what to do next. These sessions build on each other so it is important to commit to all four sessions.

Pollinator Gardening

Facilitated by Dana Dickson and Julie Dahl

Tuesdays May 9, 16, and 23 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. | In person at Saint Mark’s

The Fifth Mark of Mission is to safeguard the integrity of creation, sustaining and renewing the life of the earth. In 2022, the Climate Justice Committee planted a pollinator garden at Saint Mark’s. This series will address the theological and practical aspects of pollinator gardening. We will meet at Saint Mark’s on three Tuesdays and hope to be outdoors for two of the sessions.

The sessions will include hands-on planting of pollinator seeds in a container you can take home, discussion of the theological aspects of pollinator gardening, creation of a pollinator garden at your home and a tour of the gardens at Saint Mark’s Cathedral, Loring Park or the Walker Sculpture Garden prairie.

The presenters are Dana Dickson and Julie Dahl. Julie has over 20 years of experience as a Hennepin County Master Gardener. Dana is a Minnesota Master Naturalist who plants trees.
