Sunday Night Supper

Sunday Night Supper

Join Us in Feeding Our Neighbors

History, tradition, and community action are hallmarks of the Saint Mark’s Church Family, and Sunday Night Supper is an important part of our neighborhood ministry. You are welcome to join fellow Saint Mark’s volunteers and our other church family siblings for a couple hours of work (meal prep, service prep, service, and cleanup) for those in need of God’s care and love. As Jesus said, the second is this:

“'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than this.”

We invite you to explore more about this program and the love it gives out every 2nd Sunday Evening of the Month from 4:15 to 7:00 PM. St. Mark's joins with Plymouth Congregational Church and the FIrst Unitarian Society to serve hot meals to over 100 neighbors in need. It’s a warm, welcoming evening of food, care, and community.

Choose a shift that fits your schedule and interests:

  • Cooking crew starts at 2:00 PM. If you’d like to help prepare the meal, reach out to David Leussler.
  • Opening shift runs from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and includes setup, distributing bread, fruit, and hygiene items, and serving guests.
  • Closing shift goes from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and focuses on serving and cleanup.

We gather at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave. Park in the lot and enter through the main entrance—someone at the front desk will guide you to our workspace.

Our work takes place in the church’s basement kitchen and dining room. Guests are welcomed inside to enjoy their meal or pick up items to go.

If you have extra grocery bags (especially paper ones), please bring them along—guests often use them for takeout.
