The spiritual lives of children and families
Saint Mark’s Cathedral honors the spiritual lives of children and families, welcoming them to the nave in worship for any and all services. The sound of loud and wiggly kids is holy and a part of our worship.
Each Sunday morning, we offer two “soft spaces” in the nave—directly in front of the lectern and up in the balcony. Both spaces have "beloved" baskets, filled with soft toys and educational materials for the whole family.
Nursery
Our Nursery is available from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, every Sunday from September to June. It is located next to the Library, on the second floor. The most appropriate age for Nursery is between 6 months and 6 years, but we know that sometimes there will be exceptions.
Guardians will sign in their child with requested information, and will sign out at pickup.
Any questions about this child care option may be directed to by email to Kimberley Johnson.
Middle Grades
Middle Grade youth, approximately 4th – 8th grades, will meet on Sunday mornings in the Youth Connections room, located at the top of the stairs on the 2nd floor. This class begins around 9:30 AM, continuing to about 10:15 AM. The assigned lectionary readings will be used for conversation, with Brian Myers as lead coordinator. Working with high school-aged mentors, he intends to help the middle grade children begin exploring what their own personal faith is, and to have some fun!
