Dear
Cathedral Community,
In 2 Timothy
4:6–8, 16–18, Paul writes from the heart of his journey:
“I have
fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the
faith. The Lord stood by me and gave me strength.”
These
are not words of farewell, they are words of trust, courage, and
hope. Paul looks back not with regret, but with gratitude. His race
has been one of faithfulness, and he knows the Gospel will continue
through those who remain steadfast in love and purpose.
At Saint
Mark’s, we too are called to that same endurance and vision. Our
Cathedral’s story is rich with seasons of service, worship, and
transformation. And now, we look ahead to a bright future, one that
God is writing through each of us, together.
This is
a time for every St. Markan to be present and engaged in the life of
our community. We are discerning, rebuilding, and dreaming together.
The Lord continues to stand beside us, giving us strength for what
comes next.
I invite
you to join us for two important Community Forums in the Banquet Hall
at 9:30am as we share and discern together:
· October 26 – Stewardship Sunday Forum
A time to reflect on gratitude,
giving, and the ministries that bring life to our Cathedral. We’ll
celebrate how our gifts sustain and expand the mission of Saint
Mark’s for generations to come.
· November 2 – Dean Search Forum & Bishop’s Visit
A vital opportunity to hear updates
on the Dean Search process and to share your voice in shaping the
future leadership of our Cathedral.
And—on this same day—we will
joyfully welcome our Bishop to Saint Mark’s! Please, come
one, come all, and bring your spirit of hospitality and hope as we
gather in faith and thanksgiving for this important moment in our
shared life.
Saint
Mark’s future is bright. Together, we are running the race with
endurance, keeping the faith, building community, and trusting that
God’s Spirit is already leading us forward.
Gracious
and Loving God,
You
have guided Saint Mark’s through many seasons of faith, challenge,
and renewal.
Strengthen
us now as we continue the race set before us—
that
we may serve you with joyful hearts, give generously of ourselves,
and
discern your will with wisdom and grace.
Bless
our gatherings in these weeks ahead,
our
conversations, our hopes, and our dreams for this Cathedral.
May
your Spirit lead us into a future bright with your love,
united
in purpose, steadfast in faith,
and
ever mindful that you stand beside us through it all.
Through
Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
With deep
gratitude and hope,
Tim+
