November is Groveland Emergency Food Shelf SOUP DRIVE

Food shelf

The Groveland Food Shelf: GEFS is a non-profit serving our neighbors for 50 years in the Loring Park/Stephens Square neighborhood, providing groceries to anyone in need.

Feeding the hungry: Use of the food shelf has drastically increased. On most days GEFS serves over 200 guests, and we serve about 5,000 people per month. Groveland is facing a host of external challenges including increased daily visits, high food costs, decreased access to food rescue options, and government funding uncertainty.

You can EASILY help: Each Sunday in November we will be collecting soup for Groveland. Please participate in the soup drive and make a difference in the lives of the hungry. Start collecting soup and drop it off at Saint Mark’s any Sunday in November. For donated cans, pop tops are preferred, but single serve microwaveable containers or boxes of soup or Ramen will also be accepted.

In November look for the drop-off areas in the Narthex and the Community room.
