Saint Mark's
Feast Day on Sunday, April 26
Worship Service
Join us at our 10:30 AM service as we gather to
celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, Saint Mark.
Recognition and Blessing of Historical Pieces
During the service, we will also honor and bless
pieces of history located in the Nave. The back wall of the Nave has
long featured names carved in memory of former Rectors and Deans.
Recently, the names of the last three Deans—Frederick Morris, Henry
Hancock, and H. Douglas Fontaine—have been added, each accompanied by
their chosen scripture verse. We also acquired a marble carving of a
St. Mark’s lion that has now been beautifully restored.
About the Artist
The carver, Janey Westin, was responsible for both the
carving of the Deans on the back wall and the restoration of the
lion. On Sunday, May 3, Janey will share insights into the
fascinating process of carving and restoration during the 9:30 forum
hour.
