Lunch at Great River Landing

Tuesday April 28, 12:00- 1:30 pm

Gather for lunch with your fellow St Markans, Fresh Start Staff, and residents. We meet at Great River Landing in the Community Room. 813 N 5th St. (North Loop), Mpls.

Great River Landing is a supportive housing development in Minneapolis focused on providing homes for men exiting incarceration. They are partnered with 180 degrees, an experienced social services agency, as their onsite service provider. Saint Mark’s began Fresh Start at Great River Landing in 2024 and the partnership continues to grow in so many ways. From speakers to storytelling, establishing a library, computer room, and bedding drive, to breaking bread together, listening and learning----we are building community together!

SAAGES: Wednesday, May 6 at 10:30am

in the Saint Mark's Community Room

Join us to learn about the work of Dr. Andrew (Andy) Stewart, Theologian in Residence at Saint Mark's, to help communities around the world preserve their manuscript heritage. As executive director of Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) since 2003, Andy and his team have partnered with libraries and organizations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, to digitize their precious handwritten heritage, focusing on collections in conflict zones and held by persecuted minority communities. His presentation will help us understand the imperative of preserving the voices of our ancestors before they are lost for all time.

The meeting will begin with coffee and tea. Treats (sweet or savory) to share are always welcome. For questions contact John at jlsatterberg@gmail.com

Newcomers’ Gathering, Sunday, May 10

The next Newcomers’ Gathering will be held at the Cathedral following the 10:30 service on Sunday, May 10. If you are new to St. Mark’s we’d like to get to know you and hear about your experience at St. Mark’s. What brought you here the first time, and what brings you back? You will meet some of St. Mark’s leaders as well as other Newcomers, have a chance to ask questions about the life of the Cathedral, and learn about opportunities to connect.

The gathering will be held in the Heritage Room which is on the Nave level. Light refreshments will be available and a brief tour of the building will be offered. The gathering concludes by 1:00 p.m. We hope you will join us.
