Claiming Everyday Faith, Together:
Fall 2025 Small Groups
As
followers of Jesus, we are called to love God and our neighbor, not
just conceptually, but wholeheartedly, in every aspect of our lives
as individuals and as the community of Saint Mark’s. Listening deeply
to others and building the connections we all long for are why the
return of small groups is a cornerstone of this ministry.

Saint Mark's Men's Ministry
St. Mark's Men's Ministry will meet on Saturday,
October 25 in the Cathedral Library from 9 to 10 am to continue
its ongoing conversation about what it means to be a man who follows
Jesus Christ and his call to love during a contentious time in our
communities.
Our conversations have been wide-ranging, occasionally
informed by AI, accepting of differing opinions and always useful.
Snacks are typically available throughout the meeting and we close
with a simple Eucharist. Come join our diverse group and add to the
conversation. We meet monthly on the 4th Saturday of each month, 9 am
in the Library, no reservation needed.

November is Groveland Emergency Food Shelf
SOUP
DRIVE
The
Groveland Food Shelf Is: A non-profit serving our neighbors for 50 years in the Loring
Park/Stephens Square neighborhood providing groceries to anyone in
need.
Feeding
the Hungry: Use of the food shelf has drastically increased. On
most days GEFS serves over 200 guests, and we serve about 5,000
guests a month. Groveland is facing a host of external challenges
including increased daily visits, high food costs, decreased access
to food rescue options, and government funding uncertainty.
You can EASILY help: Each Sunday in November we
will be collecting soup for Groveland. Please participate in the soup
drive and make a difference in the lives of the hungry. Start
collecting soup and drop it off at Saint Mark’s any Sunday in
November. For donated cans pop tops are preferred, but single serve
microwaveable containers or boxes of soup or Ramen will also be
accepted.
In November look for the drop-off areas in the Narthex
and the Community room.

Dean Search Committee Update
The Search
Committee has been putting the finishing touches on our OTM (Office
of Transitional Management) Profile - the 12 questions that we
answered to describe specific aspects of our church organization and
community. We are also focusing on developing our Parish
Profile, which is a more creative presentation of our community using
words, pictures, and video.
Once we
are finished with this and finalize the OTM questions, we will
present these items to the Vestry and the Bishop to be
posted. We hope to start reviewing applications in
January. Please come to the 9:30 forum on November 2nd to hear
more about our process and plans, and watch the Dean's
Search page on the website for our progress.

Gospel Based Discipleship

A weekly online meeting to read a passage of scripture and
reflect on its meaning. There is no curriculum, no instructor. This

"mini-retreat" from the week's busyness.
Access the Zoom link here.
The gathering lasts only 45-50 minutes, from 12:15 pm until about 1
pm.
