Joining the Episcopal Church – classes begin October 26

Adults (defined as age 16+ in the Episcopal Church) who are considering being ...

•    Baptized as new members of the Church.
•    Confirmed as Episcopalians.
•    Received into the Episcopal Church after being confirmed another denomination.
•    Reaffirmed in their faith as they move into a new stage of life.
•    New Members of St. Mark’s Cathedral.

... Are invited to be part of our newly re-structured program.

The basis for the group will be an exploration of the Baptismal Covenant, the Episcopal Church’s basic statement of what it means to be a Christian.  Over eight hour-long sessions there will be opportunities for learning, sharing in conversation, asking questions, and discovering more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  All interested adults are welcome.

The class will be offered twice a year.  The Fall session, which will meet on Sundays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the library, will prepare people for Baptism during the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist on Sunday January 11, 2026, the Feast of the Baptism of Jesus. Classes will be held on the following dates:

The Spring session, which will also meet on Sunday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the library, will prepare people for Baptism at the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, April 4, 2026.  Classes will be held on the following dates:

Those seeking Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation who participate in either of the classes will celebrate their new commitments when the Bishop visits St. Mark’s in the Spring.
