A REQUEST FROM
YOUR STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE
On
behalf of Saint Mark’s stewardship committee, I’d like to thank
everyone who made a pledge commitment during our recent annual giving campaign.
We set
an ambitious goal, aligned with our expected financial obligations
for 2026. These include competitive pay for our staff and new dean,
the operational care and maintenance of our cathedral, and funding
for ministries and outreach.
The
Good News
Many
generous Saint Markans have stepped up and made pledge commitments,
and those commitments currently total close to $850,000. From these
Saint Markans, gifts were especially generous, and we’re so
grateful.
The
Challenge
Our goal
for 2026 is $1,100,000, so we’re still short
$250,000. Our biggest hurdle in managing our expenses is that most
Saint Markans do not make planned financial contributions. This means
we have needed to rely on the continuing
support of a minority of members of our parish. While we’re so
grateful for their generosity, we’re not as well set up for our
financial future without planned commitments from more Saint
Markans. But it’s not too late!
The
Request
If you
have not yet made a pledge for 2026, you still can! We request that
you prayerfully consider what you can give to sustain the life of
this parish in the space where we gather and worship. There is
financial strength in numbers, and the more members who pledge, the
more stable and predictable our finances become year over year.
Submit
your pledge using a pledge card you can download and print here. Or you can ask
for a pledge card at the welcome desk at Saint Mark’s.
Every
pledge matters greatly, in whatever amount
you can give. Should your financial situation change during the year,
you can always revise your pledge as needed.
Thank you for considering this important financial
commitment to Saint Mark’s. Your support is vital to our parish today
and as we look to the year ahead.
Faithfully,
Mike Shepherd
