Beloved Cathedral Community,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind” and “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39, NRSV). I am thankful for all the love, care, and joy I witnessed in St. Mark’s and our ECMN siblings while celebrating Pride.

As we reflect on Pride Month and the wonderful Pride weekend we shared, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the community members, staff, volunteers, visiting clergy and guests of St. Mark’s Cathedral. It was a joy to celebrate with love and respect for all in our community. We are all created in the image of God , have our own paths, but we are all on the same journey as beloved children of God.

This call to love and respect one another was beautifully demonstrated during our Pride festivities. It is through such acts of love and unity that we truly live out our faith.

Love, respect, and unity in the Church, is some of the essential work we need to do as a people that is necessary for the future of the Church. Love and respect across differences—a message that was communicated loud and clear by our Presiding Bishop-Elect in his election speech and the General Convention. As we embark on a new chapter under the leadership of our Presiding Bishop-Elect, Rt. Rev. Sean Rowe, I look forward to his episcopacy with great hope and expectation.

Let us continue to love and support one another as we journey forward together.
