Garden Love – Pride

June 30 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Their life shall become like a watered garden, and they shall never languish again. Jeremiah 31:12b (NRSV)

On June 6, Master Gardener Julie Dahl led a tour of the pollinator garden and answered questions about gardening. The weather was cloudy, cool, and windy, but that did not diminish the enthusiasm for the pollinator garden tour. On June 9, annuals were planted to provide longer-lasting color to the garden, but they are not native to MN. Native perennials usually have short flowering seasons, and we selected the plants in the garden to provide pollen and nectar throughout the growing season. As the spring flowering plants go to seed, the summer and fall plants begin to bloom. The Wine Cup/Poppy Mallow (Callirhoe involucrata) is an exception, it starts flowering in late spring and will continue to blossom until frost.

The garden needs volunteer waterers, if you can spare an hour or so during the week, please let Dana Dickson know.

Upcoming garden activities:

Sunday, June 30, 3–6pm

Join with Master Gardeners to talk about the Pollinator Garden and offer Pride attendees garden plant information.
