The Christian Calendar: Spiritual Prep for Upcoming Liturgical Season

A seasonal lecture held via Zoom on Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

One of the ways we are formed as Christians is within the ancient calendar of feast days, saints’ days, and fast days. The liturgical calendar not only establishes a pattern of life and worship for us but reminds us of the story we live from—the story of Israel, of Jesus, and of his followers to this day. In our winter lecture we will examine the origins and purpose of the calendar and focus especially on the season of Lent, Holy Week, and Eastertide as a preparation for our worship and reflection.
