Transgender Day of Remembrance, St. Paul’s – Lake of the Isles

November 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This coming November and December, Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral (SMEC) is partnering with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Lake of the Isles (St. Paul’s), with the support of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota (ECMN), St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, and other neighboring parishes, to celebrate two very special services with importance for the LGBTQ+ community: Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) World AIDS Day (WAD).

TDOR is an annual memorial holiday to mourn and remember the lives of transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive people lost to violence and hate each year. We call on our faith communities to join us at 7 PM on Thursday, November 21, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Lake of the Isles, as we memorialize this sacred day with Eucharist, song, and collective lamentation.

All are welcome to join us for the Vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance. St. Paul’s is fully ADA accessible and has accessible, gender-neutral restroom facilities. Free street parking is available near the church. The nearest bus stop is located at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Franklin Avenue West. All money collected from the loose plate offering will go toward supporting Tea Time at Aliveness Project, a peer support network for trans femmes in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota. Stick around following the vigil for light refreshments, generously offered by the vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Lake of the Isles.
