World AIDS Day Commemoration

December 1 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Each year, on December 1, people worldwide gather to commemorate World AIDS Day: a day to mourn those lost to AIDS-related causes, support those living with HIV, and commit us to the fight for a world without HIV/AIDS.

This year, at Saint Mark’s Cathedral, we are embracing the spirit of hope and anticipation that comes with the Advent season by incorporating World AIDS Day into our Sunday Advent 1 services At 8 AM and 10:30 AM, allowing us to come together to mourn, celebrate, sing, and worship in honor of those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDS, while also renewing our commitment to work toward a future free of HIV. As we begin the journey of Advent, a season of hope and expectation, we hope all will remember that our faith calls us to action and to bring light into the world.

We invite you to join us for this holy and transformative service. Saint Mark’s is fully ADA accessible, with gender-neutral restroom facilities available. Free parking is located near the cathedral, and public transportation is accessible at the intersection of 15th Street and Oak Grove Street. All donations from the loose plate offering will support The Aliveness Project, an organization dedicated to providing free and low-cost HIV prevention and care to residents of the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota.
