Dearest
Cathedral Community,
In light of today’s events, and as we gather only
for the 10:00 a.m. service while preparing for our Annual Meeting,
the Cathedral Nave will be open beginning at 8:00 a.m. for private
prayer and quiet reflection. Clergy and pastoral support will be
available as we hold space together for the pain and hurt in our
communities and the uncertainty of this season.
Additionally,
after the 10am service, while we prepare the room for the Annual
Meeting, the Reverend Clara Sanders will lead those interested in
song.
Let us pray.
God of
mercy and truth,
we come to you tired, tender, and honest.
The world
feels heavy, our hearts feel bruised,
and we are
carrying more than we let on.
Breathe
your peace into what aches.
Heal what
has been wounded in our lives,
in our
community,
and in the
spaces where hope feels fragile.
Give us
courage that is kind,
love that
refuses to let go,
and faith strong enough to keep showing up.
Teach us
to listen deeply,
to speak
gently,
and to
choose compassion even when it’s hard.
Hold us
together, Holy One,
when
everything feels pulled apart.
Make us
instruments of your peace—
not
perfect, just faithful.
Amen.
Peace,
Tim+
