Greetings from Germany

Dear Cathedral Community,

Greetings from Germany!

I am writing to provide you with an update on our pilgrimage journey. We have landed in Germany and on our 2nd day. We and are enjoying laughter, fellowship, and conversation, and looking forward to exploring the roots of the Reformation, and reflecting on the profound courage of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. We will end our trip with a visit to Buchenwald, reminding us of the horrors of the Holocaust and prompting profound reflection to never forget (לעולם לא לשכוח).

Our pilgrims have approached this journey with courage and curiosity, and it is a privilege to accompany them. Together, we seek God’s presence amidst these challenging themes and celebrate the resilience and beauty of Germany and its people. We will witness God’s loving hand in transforming darkness into beauty, life emerging from death, and the ongoing process of reconciliation.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue our journey and transition back home to the United States. We will be returning on July 21st, carrying with us the lessons and reflections from this pilgrimage. We look forward to sharing more about our experiences with you our community on our return.

God’s Peace,

Peace,

The Rev. Timothy M. Kingsley

Provost
