The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…
Christians believe we are all gifted for ministry and that the Holy Spirit given to us at baptism plays a key role in stirring and manifesting those gifts for the sake of the world. We are each uniquely created, uniquely positioned to make God’s saving love real in our own lives and in the lives around us.
Within the Church, many gifts are meant for gathering and nurturing the faithful as we come together to pray, to learn, and to walk with one another. Many other gifts are meant to be exercised in the places we spend the majority of our time: among family & friends, in our workplaces, in the public square, and in the market sector. Whatever your particular gifts, they’re meant to be discerned, nurtured, and exercised for the Common Good.
Your Cathedral Ministry Team serves both to share their own gifts for our common life AND to call forth the gifts of this faith community for the life of the world. Please keep them in your daily prayers.
