Maundy Thursday Liturgy

March 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples, where he instituted the Holy Communion or Eucharist.

The name “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word “mandatum,” which means commandment, referring to Jesus’ commandment to his disciples to love one another as he loved them. On Maundy Thursday, we remember the events of the Last Supper, including the washing of the feet ceremony, where clergy or members of the congregation reenact Jesus washing the feet of his disciples as a symbol of humility and service. The service will also include the stripping of the altar to symbolize Jesus’ impending death and the beginning of the Easter Triduum, which marks the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

This is an in-person only event
